Designed for the executive director of a New York City based environmental non-profit organization, the project’s primary goal is to be a leading example of sustainable design. The design solution combines Economic, Social, and Environmentally sustainability initiatives. The house is to be constructed with primarily locally sourced materials, it will include working gardens and orchards for the production of food for the house and the local community, and it implements natural ventilation and cooling solutions, alternative energy systems, a grey water system, a cistern, and solar hot water.
