Mayyaka City, FL

The Lemur Conservation Foundation is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of lemurs as well as all primates of Madagascar through captive breeding, scientific research, and education. The Charlotte Lovejoy Conservation Residence Hall will be a new facility for scientists and students who come to the LCF grounds to study the lemurs.

The project is being designed to meet the net zero goals set out by the Living Building Challenge which is regarded as the most rigorous sustainability standard for buildings and sites. Sustainable Strategies include solar power, rainwater reuse, low-flow plumbing fixtures, recharging of aquifers, passive cooling and heating, operable windows, sustainable use of materials, planting a food garden, promoting human powered movement
